The polls have closed in the Scottish referendum after millions of voters took to the polls to decide the future of the United Kingdom.

The results of the independence referendum. are due to start coming in at 2am, with the final decision around breakfast time.

A YouGov survey predicts a 54% vote for No and 46% for Yes from a huge turnout that was nearly 100% in parts of Scotland.

William Wallace, a Scottish knight, became a central early figure in the wars to secure Scottish freedom from the English, becoming one of his country's greatest national heroes.

One of the main aspects that draws much attention is that of Wallace's height. He is regarded as being tall, as high as 6ft 7inches. This is based on the documents and histories that were passed down describing him and also on the speculation that he would have had to have been tall to wield so effectively the sword that is kept in the Wallace National Monument at Abbey Craig just outside Stirling. The sword is 5 feet 4 inches  (162 cm) long and so its user would have needed to be both tall and strong to use it properly in battle. As there are no remains with which to verify the claims, we will just have to stay with the notion that he was literally a giant of a man.

I wonder how many of those voters were evil illegal voters?

Hard to say as they have had huge issues of voter fraud in the past due to their leftist liberal Fabian socialist policies. The UK has the same problems we do with illegals flooding their country and has a very vocal native population screaming for voter fraud prevention legislation which includes Voter ID. A new 3rd party UKIP which is not unlike our TEA Party has emerged quite victoriously and actually is becoming a threat to the two party stranglehold by the social democrats and Torries. Much like the democrat/republican two sides of the same coin problem we are experiencing.

And yes pcabuser, we do in fact have a huge voter fraud problem here...

Keep dreaming. We have almost no voter fraud. You need to read the results of every legitimate study of voter fraud. And I don't mean Fox news polls... Are you intentionally ignorant or is it true ignorance?????

Nice, brilliant response there abuser. I'm not dreaming and you know it. Voter fraud is a reality that you leftist globalists use globally to force you degenerative policies upon the people of free nations. Legitimate studies? Done by who? Huffpo? Media Matters? Liberal college professors? Liberal news organizations? Government funded studies? I don't watch Fox news moron...

There is speculation that those really gigantic swords weren't actually wielded as they are portrayed to have been in Hollywood movies - you know, overhead, thrust, perry, spin, etc., etc.,. One school of thought is that likely they were swung at an opponents lower legs, ankles and feet - areas below the protection of a shield - in an attempt to knock them down and then dispatch them with a mace or similar implement.

Shut the hell up CD, before I summon the ghost of Douglas Fairbanks to deal with you.

I wouldn't doubt it, at least by the majority as those suckers are heavy. I've read where William Wallace possibly was 6"7" and really strong so all bets are off on him...
