I was using a chatterbait, was first time using that lure too. I didn't get to try it at Newport while I was kayaking since big hammer was working too well for me.

Nice going, this is one of the better lakes in OC to fish, i never see bucketeers, because they seem to think the surface area of a lake influences the catch.

try using a boogie bait some time, they're pretty awesome, especially with a roboworm trailer

Does anyone know if they stocked trout yet. They are supposed to do it sometime this week.

Nice fish!

I have not fished any of the local lakes much since I moved to OC after then next stocking this lake is going to feel my swimbait wrath. Unfortunately it is new territory for me so its going to take me a bit to figure out a pattern. ALL CITY PARKS hold pigs it is always rewarding catching pigs in a new body of water. Curious what part of the lakes do they normally stock and where do the trout generally congregate.

They stock the small lake

They seem to stay around the west side of the lake.

Sorry, for late reply...
