Decided to hit the last night session of the season at Castaic with Aramndo (Hitts0n) and Sean (Fishingcrave) in hopes of getting a few stripers and possibly a catfish or two. Got to the lake a little around 7 after a stop at gallions for a sandwich, chovies and bloodworms. I knew the lake was pretty low, but it was much lower than I ever recall being....come on El Nino!!!!:Singing In Rain:

Took a walk down the dam and settled into a likely looking spot, in fact I think I found "the spot" because I had 2 small cats and a bluegill without anyone else reporting even a bite. It sure felt great to beat the valley heat at the lake, although it wasn't even cool enough to bother with a hoodie or long sleeve shirt for that matter. Surprise of the night was when Hitts thought he got bit and I realized we were tangled, while undoing our lines my pole goes bendo in my hands and it's game on!
Had a nice battle on 8lb test, weighed on the digi scale at 11.13lbs....fish was hooked just barely in the corner of the mouth and had a broken treble as well as some line hanging from it's face!

The stripers were a no show, but we had a good time regardless....I wish this lake did the evening sessions more often. Until next time.
See you on the water!
