Headedto the mid this morn after my job got put off today,,,,1st one in line. Wanted to give BLIND trolling a try .

Iv heard this phrase a lot lately and wanted to see if it was even possible,,,SO we<myself and father in law> launched at 6 ish and went looking for some feesh,,,.

Wasn't really sure what blind trolling meant but assumed that it meant blind folding myself and trying to troll up some stripers,,,,,,,,,So I gave it a go,,,,,,,,,,NOT a good idea LOL,,,,,Before the lake patrol pull,d me over he said that he wached me almost wreck into floating outhouse and then almost beach myself on the dam:LOL:,,..

So I gave that up and went back to doing EXACTLY what a BAKO BOY does,,,,,,

And then I found this.

http://i171.photobucket.com/albums/u290/kluna2/0903140714_zps4irvsr0y.jpg

And then it was onnnnnn,,

80+ STRIPERS landed by 1pm,,,,from 1/2 lb dinks to 3 lbrs,,,It was pure WIDE OPEN striper trolling,

All cought on the BAKO BOY rigs fished DEEP and SLOW,,,,

Doubles triples ,,,you name it.

My fath in law had an absolute BLAST as did I!

wat Temp 75 deg

Water still really green from the bloom,,,wind NORMAL.

Heres a cooler shot taken at the boat ramp.

Kept 20 for the smoker and tacos

Down scan doesn't help with the fish. It does make night and day difference in ID'ing anything else from (mainly trees)

Nice!!!!!!!!!!! Stroll in a couple days after all the lice leave and put an absolute hurtin on the Pyramid Stripers!

Way to go and thanks for trying to stay in tune with the fish for the Jr Slam. Hopefully the bite stays hot and you stay as dialed in as you are now. I'm hoping there will be lots of kids landing lots of stripers that day.

Great catch Scott. 80 fish! I hope that you had help reeling them in.

I have an Lowrance Elite 5 DSI. It's not a combo and not HDI. It's awesome! I had to recalibrate my head. The fish returns are smaller but more detailed. I've looked down at the fishfinder and counted the shad in a school.

I wouldn't want to switch back to a regular fishfinder now.

I've used a combo Elite 7. The fish returns on it are smaller than on mine. I think it's tuned more for structure than fish. I don't know if they're all the same though.

P.S. I've seen people trolling like that. Now I know what it's called.

Absolutely,,,,,,,,,,,the very 1st cast of the morn was on top of that exact school with a crok,spoon,,,,,,,1st drop I got hit right when I came bouncing it up through them but no hookup but the wind was blowing and I don't have a bow F finder and was having trouble staying on top of,m so went after them on the troll

Ron,,,,,soon il enable the HDI finction and see how it looks with the 2 D 83kh laid on top of the 3 D down imaging ,,

it took me a bit of adjusting to the FF set up to where I wanted it so I would get return,s like the one in the pic,,,,,I never lost bottom even at 30mph BUT once had to restart it cause the automatic depth function stuck on 200feet then when I got into shallow water I lost the bottom picture,,,,,did some more adjusting and I think I have that resolved,,,,

Im loving it no doubt!. still figuring it out
