It's good that nobody was bitten this time!

Aren't you supposed to cut an endangered fish loose when you know what it is?

This article says The department of Fish and Wildlife ordered the city to lift the ban on fishing from the pier.

It's possible... They move within striking distance of the beach from time to time. A GWS was caught and released from the surf by a Marine from the beach at Camp Pendleton last year. I believe there is a video of the catch out there somewhere.

I remember as a kid in the 80's watching documentary of guys in Australia setting bouys with bait in the afternoon and in the morning retrieving the great whites and killing them and bringing back to shore.

I remember them being 20+ft.

I'm no shark expert but it looks rare to find 20 footers anymore? I'm glad they got protected.

Now with the sea lion explosion and elephant seals reestablishing... I reckon the GW will be close behind

I've got a DVD called "The Great White Death!".

I love it but it's definitely not PC.
