Good evening all,
Went to Perris on Tues, Started out trolling some big baits, carp and bluegill for the first 2 hrs for nothing. So time to put on some JDS-13 custom painted shad baits and it was game on. got a biggen around 1230 ish 7.6 and plenty of other 4 lbs fish throughout the day. As evening came I just could not keep them off the baits. Its was a real fun day with about 25 bass caught. Most fish were caught in 25 to 30 ft of water.4491144912

JDS13 your post on your homemade swimbaits has me really interested and has had me doing research. While I do wood working I have been looking for an easier way. I found this video and it looks very interesting and would like your thoughts. Thanks again.

Dev,
Sorry for the late reply, I like that video alot, its very informative in the way of materials used and weighting of the lure. I think if you are serious about making some swim baits, this video would serve you well. I just wonder if the elements used for his swim baits are available for use to purchase, because I am definately interested in that resin he uses due to the fact wood is hard to work with. Really though its not so much wood is hard to work with, I enjoy shaping baits, it is the expanding of the wood by the water that cracks the paint job that bothers me. You will get advice about put this or that on the bait to seal it, but I drag my baits up to an hour or more underwater and water gets in period. Thanks Dev for considering me as someone who could give some constructive feedback on this video, you have got the wheels turning in my head for a new build.

James

If your up to putting up with me I would be willing to buy or share in the purchase of the materials and the learning curve with you to make some synthetic lures. This has to be a better way than wood.
