I had no plans in going but work was going to be slow wed and after checking out the weather report I thought why not give it a try in the storm!
I knew it was either going to pay off or a bad day period. I was a bit hesitant to enter the park once I was in line. Well I decided to go in but waited
a good 25-30 mins before actually launching my boat. There were a good 7-8 boaters doing the same thing. Over all the bite seemed like a normal day
which is better than a bad day and the Fish were much deeper than usual. 20-30ft is were I stayed most of the day fishing contour lines.

Fish count: 28 LMB landed, 1 back to back hook up. Skinny Bass (bottom pix) went 5.15lbs on the scale. Lost one at the boat that was
a good 6-7lbs early morning on vid, & lost another 5 to 6 small ones.

Water temp: 78-80
Weather: Off & on storms, Rain off and on for short periods and Low winds

It was a scary day to be out, kinda!

Wasn't that fun? I was in the yellow Stratos next to you...That fish was so skinny for the size of its head. I caught a total of 12 yesterday from around the lake. The rain was crazy, other than about an hour, it rained ALL DAY pretty much.

It was different for sure but better than trying to fish in 35-40 mph winds which I've tried before at perris and never again!

If that had been me on the water at the first lightning bolt I would have been wide open throttle goin' back to the barn. Been on the water in Texas on Lake Fork when a big one rolled in and it was beyond scary. We have no clue what a real lightening storm is in the west compared to the Midwest and South.

lol to your 1st sentence. I think it was a first and last type of experience for me in these type of conditions. I kinda just wanted to try it out and see what the
bite would be like.

Dude, you're lucky it wasn't your last Perris experience period. Good job sticking the pigs but sheeet man, your rod is like waving a freaking lightning rod around with you being the high spot on the water. Finesse fairy wand or not...

Stormcrow was out there too? Mr. Bio science dude? Dude you being in science should know better, you're lucky your rod didn't get nailed thus permanently fusing your "other" rod to the deck stool post.

Those are killer pics troutsniffer...

No fish is worth being put six feet under by lighting. The larges number of people killed by lighting are fisherman.

Dude you really arent kidding. The thunder was so loud at one point I had to cover the ears. But man, my rods were collecting so much static electricity that if I held it at the right angle I could feel the voltage move into my fingers. It was wild....and yes, kind of stupid. I was expecting it to pass but it never did. It rained all freaking day!
