Against my better judgement, I decided to hit the lake today. I say that because after a 9 hr work day, that ended at 5pm, the floor cleaning guys came to strip and wax the floors at my shop, promising to be finished by 930.....I got home after 12, slept for 3 hours, and went to see if I could find some boiling fish.....No, I couldn't....there were some small boils, but nothing note worthy that I encountered. In goes the urig, set in the holder zzz zzz zzz goes the clicker, and the skunk is gone, picked up two more, then off to a different location, metered big shad balls, but no predators to speak of, and then, jeez here comes the lake lice, lice on steroids, everywhere.....way worse than last week, it was difficult to troll because they were trying to go between me and the shore, I am 20-30 feet from the shore, and one guy just dusted me, I dont know how he didnt get my line, but he almost swamped the boat..... I ended up with seven, and I left around noon because it was too crazy out there......Sunday is one of my days off, otherwise I dont think I would continue to go out and torture myself......On the way out, more lice in line, around the corner 1/2 way up the hill to the gate, probably 30 more boats. Water level was way down from last week, the dock on the far right is now high and dry...............Dave

Such is the life of a fisherman..

Still you did great, all things considered..BTW I'm tired myself. Late summer striper fishing is long hours

Love the reports Dave keep after it.

Nice that you got out and still managed some fish despite the lice. I actually almost went today, but had a bad feeling about the crowds....so im going tomorrow instead...

I think that would be prudent, some of those boats sound like funny cars, scattering bait and fish as they go.....tomorrow should be some good fishing!

Nice catching under difficult circumstances...7 fish in a half day isn't bad at all, especially with all the boat traffic :Beer Toast:

I think as a fisherman, you probably respect the fellows fishing, re: keeping a respectful distance, perhaps being aware of creating big waves near guys fishing, not having a stereo blaring at concert level etc, so I would not classify you or your boat as lake lice......I would love to go fishing with you on Monday, but I have to work:Crying:....Perhaps in the future, thanks for the invite however!.................Dave

Nice job out there Dave.

I missed you in line but saw you on the water. I went in search of the top water bite for the first hour for nothing. Dropped the troll rigs and immediately picked up a couple dinks. Then I had an issue with my propeller so I was off the water by 9 am.

I saw very little topwater stuff going on, sometimes because I sit so low in the boat, I often wonder if I just can't see it, I am sorry to hear about your propeller, hopefully it will be an easy fix..................Dave

Man, Dave, you're brave.

Congrats on the catching, again!

You're elevation definitely influences the distance that you can see boils from.
