Went out to cerritos regional park for a quick bass fishing session. After doing errands all day and going to the hospital to visit my dad, I decided to throw some cast to relieve some stress. Hit up the lake around 6pm. Threw out some plastics and fan casted an area that had some shade. Felt good to fish, I haven't fished in such a long time. I started talking to a local and asked him what happened to some of the regulars who fished cerritos. He informed me that they were still around but just weren't there today. While we were talking, I felt a small bite on my line.....Man it's been so long....I kinda hesitated but then I decided to swing for the stars and set the hook. I reeled in a nice healthy looking bass in the 2 pound range and thanked the fishing gods. I quickly release it back into the water and decided to call it a night. Gotta get home for dinner. Sorry no fish porn on the report but I think everyone has seen a bass in the 2 pound range...
P.S. I saw a few shad balls, so if you go.... you might want to try shad pattern baits.....good luck!
