View Full Version : PB 15" chunky spotted bay bass at the LAB from my float tube

So, I went float tubing this morning in Alamitos Bay from 5:30 am to 7:15 am and was fishing the Fools Bait Hawg Seekers and landed my personal best spotted bay bass of 15" and chunky. Caught it on the violet shad hawg seeker on the drop shot:

I also managed to catch another spotted bay bass on a pink camo hawg seeker on a yellow cotee 3/8 oz lead head:

I managed to catch a 3rd fish which was a short sand bass, but did not take a picture of it.

Nice job Jmericle. That's probably the same one I got the last time we fished. I caught him after you left on 4lb gear. It was fun.

Great job....That's a chunk for sure. Spotties sure have a lot of heart for their size!
I used to fish LAB quite a bit along with Naples on my float tube. Sure as heck a shorter drive than NPH from the SFV!

Ha ha ha. You never know. I caught him out in the middle of the channel and not next to the docks.

Hi ya Jmericle,

Sorry for the late response.

I've never float tubed nor caught a SBB but that sure looks like a lot of fun!

This one is still on my species to catch bucket list. :Envious:

I hope to hook up with you at the up coming HG-6 and maybe you could give me a few good pointers.
