WFO Boils! Flat Out Stupid! Easy Peasy??? BullShattttt!

Was thinking of hitting it on Sunday... Saw the Saturday reports.

WFO Boils! Flat Out Stupid! Easy Peasy... Stories of baits being ripped from lines and eaten by stripers in an all out frenzy! One Dumbass even claimed theyd eat a cigarette butt if you threw it out there!

Of course that made up my mind... DK hinted he might go so I hit him up and we planned to meet in the morning. Lil Genaro and I arrive at 4:05 am. 2nd in line of course behind Donald and his buddy Zang. Got to meet catchingsomefish in line. He's as nice a guy in person as he seems in his posts. Great meeting you Dave!

Get on the water and motor out to the spot where they CLAIM the action happened on Saturday... Lots of boats but no boils.

Well... DK doesn't need boils to catch on topwater... At least thats what he said. Zang and I laugh as he says that and casts out :LOL: Then he gets 3 blow ups on the 1st cast (no hook up). Oooh? Maybe he's right? Couple casts later he's on! fish landed and then another on his very next cast... Effen Show Off! I'm like WTF? Im throwin the same bait.. same technique?

Finally... after a few blow ups I get my first ever topwater striper and then start picking off a few more! But DK is going crazy.. gets 2 or 3 to every one I get. I hate him! Poor Zang getting blow ups but no hook ups..... Lil Genaro????????????

Things slowed down so we headed to the dock to get something from the truck. Spot some fish popping on the way so we stop and continue the slay.

After things slowed we went on the troll... Zang didnt do much with topwater but was the hot stick on the troll... even got one of those ugly green ones.

But the troll was never really that hot so we threw topwater for a while to end the morning and I picked up one more before we left.

Off the water by noon...

It was a great time DK. You are always good company and your buddy Zang is a good dude. Lots of fish landed and many more missed... Thats topwater fishing tho.

So I pondered on the way home. Could Saturday really have been as advertised? No way... The fellow FNNers must be a bunch of story tellers!

Dave, Sometimes it's moment to moment. I've been there when I never saw a boil and had people telling me all day about catching on boils. The trolling was good for me though.

Yup... Things change quickly but we all found ways to put fish in our boats even though it wasn't as good as the day before. We'll see you out there again I'm sure.

Very logical conclusions... No more going for boils. But oh it's sooo nice when you go anyways and the the boils bust out. Wish I wasn't working on Saturday but I'm glad that you all got to enjoy it.
