I didn't plan on fishing lastnight, but after some coaxing from the Pedro Crew and those little kittys meowing in my head I just had to heed the calling

Drove down to San Pedro to meet the "Pedro Pirate" (Robie) and Hook'um Dano (Danny) at their place, unloaded my gear into the truck and off we went...

Got to the lake in plenty of time for the evening bite, headed to the spot and Hook'um Dano punked the skunk not 5 minutes into the trip  :Envious:

The Pedro Pirate landed a solid 5lber before the sun even dipped behind TM65 bluff aka "you see that hill over there bro" Way to keep at it and punking that multi trip skunk Robie!

We had numerous chances, but after several short runs and a fish or two wrapped in the weeds we still only had one fish on the stringer but hope still burned eternal that we'd be putting that net to use again.

The moon was beaming down on us and I started thinking maybe this almost full moon would be our demise. A couple hours and numerous stories later the moon hid behind the clouds for a bit and the waiting game continued. We decided to stick to the spot eventhough we only had one fish to show for our efforts. We all felt the fish we missed was enough to convince us that the kittys were on the prowl. GOOD CALL  About 20 minutes later my reel sounds off and I am on a decent fish that comes to said net after a nice battle...guesstimate about 7-8lbs and it had everyone anticpating our next opportunity. Opportunity came knocking for me again about 30 minutes later and this was a better fish, made even more challenging was the 3-5lbs of grass that became wrapped around my line. This fish was truly a Team 57 effort and no way I land it solo....Rob pulling grass off the line, Dano shining a spot light on the jumbled mass of salad while snipping adjacent lines and all the while keep a net in close proximity for the moment of truth. After 10 minutes of organized chaos we were rewarded with a fish we figured to be a DD :Big Grin:

We missed a couple more chance before calling it a night and although the fish count wasn't what it was last weekend, we had a blast out there...

Brought the fish to the scales for an official weight and a couple of pictures. Robie's fish went 5.1 while mine weighed 8.0 and 11.7lbs....STOKED!!!

PB cat for 2014 thus far, my goal is still 25lbs + by October....

Last stop of the night. Posed with the big kitty with a nice family who had never seen a fish like that and gave away some fish to those that wanted some...always share, be kind and considerate to your fellow anglers, IRVINE LAKE KARMA is for real.

Nice. I thought the moon might keep the fish down so decided not to go. Next week should be better though.
