I bought a boat last year just after lobster season started, and went hooping for the first time. I was instantly addicted. Never thought it would
be that much fun. I couldn't wait for opening day.
Well apperently opening day was not on oct 1st but one day earlier.
( I never got the memo) Maybe next year !!
My partner Chris and I decided to go out anyway on Monday 10/01.
We got to the Marina at about 5:00 pm. Wanted to get there early to check the lights out, and make sure everything is working. Got some giant mackrel from the fuel dock and headed out to drop the nets.
It was just like opening day should be, we were pulling them up two and three at a time. One net yielded four of them bugs. It was wild !!
We had limits in 1 1/2 hrs. All good size, we had to throw back four of them on the last pass of the nets, because we had too many.
Great night and looking forward too many more this year.

The pics came out great! Dinner must have been a feast for Kings. Did you serve steak with the Lobster tails?

when you've hit your limit and are pulling your traps call in another boat and give them your extras(the smaller ones of course). It's a good feeling to help out the guys who aren't doing as well and hopefully they'll give you some bugs on a day when your not at your limit.
