Jim allowed me to fish with him again since I've been to lazy to fix my boat.

We started off trolling. I was up on the first fish, it was 10" long so we pitched it.

The second fish was a different story, Jim was up and the fish was a nice one. He landed one about 4 1/2 lb.

After that one we trolled for a while and picked up 9 total. Only 2 of those made their way into the cooler, the others were deemed to be below TLTLC standards.

Around 9am we started cruising the lake trying to figure out what the current patterns were. We settled on a pattern and set up in an unattended area and put the baits out. At first it was quiet but soon Jorge and Marvin came to see how we were doing. We were eating our sandwiches and as it turned out the fishing prowess of those 2 fishing giants combined with us having our hands full translated into instant bites and we boated our first 2 bait bite fish. One made cooler status. We sent the other to get it's mom.

After that we had a steady pick of fish. Every few minutes a pole tip would move and we had a decent hook up ratio.

They liked the lugworms best but were taking nighcrawlers well too. I'm happy that I picked up 2 boxes of lugworms at Gallion's Market because we went though them fast. We wound up using 2 1/2 boxes.

We took this picture when we decided a count was in order.

Soon we landed a couple more schollies and called it a day.

We caught 9 on the troll and 38 on bait. On top of that we left at around 4:30.

It was a good day!

Good job guys! Lake is really low, soon the fish will just jump into your boat to escape certain death from lack of water................ Hopefully there will still be some water this Thursday...................Dave

All they brought back were big sisters. I'd be happy if it wasn't safe for 10" fish out there.

Looks like another slay session ron,,,,,congrats!

Thanks T\B, I heard that you slayed at the same time. Congrats!

Do you guys fly line the worms or maybe split shot, or is there another preferred method? Also, what size line and hook are you guys using? LMB fisher, but never really fish for striper, wouldn't mind giving it it's due once in a while.

Lots of people fly line and do well. I just feed them that way, so I use a sliding sinker as light as the conditions will allow with a 6 lb (sometimes 4 lb) leader about 2 ' long. I watch for fish on the fish finder and set my baits just above them.

By the way, striper are much better food than LMB/UGB (Ugly Green By-catch). They can also handle the harvest without harming their populations.

Good luck! Let us know how you do.
