Had been itching to catch a few decent fish since my disappointing outing friday night so I headed to the harbor "early" (5:30 pm) and brought my DS rod. had a few short bites before landing a pancake from the small pier. sun started to set and water looked clearer than friday so desided what the heck. swapped my finesse set up for my hawg swinging stick and made the walk out onto the jetty. a few bite on the outside while i was killing time waiting for the light to fade, nothing stuck. Deja Vu once it got dark. fish would peck the claws off of my jig but all small fish and nothing doing when I would try to hook one. after an hour of wondering if I should have went to bed I had to make a change. I noticed that there were a lot of bait fish around so I tied on a black and blue slugo on a t-rig. lots of little bumps on the drop and every now and then a bigger one would take it down.

first fish, what a relief...

I changed back to the jig after landing the first 3 fish hoping to see some bigger bass. probably could have caught more on the slugo but I did get 2 legals on the jig. All fish were released on this trip. need to let them grow up some more so they put up more of a fight.

totals 6 calico, 1 rockfish, 1 spottie, and the previously mentioned halibut(about 13")

I might need to find a new MO until things puck back up out there.
