Bad start to a great day of fishing with my Kiddo.
When we arrived we were 3rd in line. While prepping one of the pins (connection) on my graph broke which made it useless, glad it came w a warranty. Out
we went for shallow waters to try a few reaction baits and no takers, just carp boiling everywhere! We headed out to a different spot and my fuel
line busted. So we headed for the docks to pick up some tools from my truck. As I’m walking down the ramp w tools, I notice my son is fighting a fish, lol.
He caught it under the ramp with ds. Small guy but Wtg kid!

An hr later we were fishing again and the bite was consistent throughout the rest of the day.
We caught a lot of 1’s, eight in the 2 range, four in the 3 range, one went 4.90, another that was 5.20 and
The biggest went 6.30 Not a bad day w no electronics.

Total count: 42 lmb landed, 5 sack total went 21lbs and change!

Conditions: Hot and minor winds (river boats & jet skis, Everywhere)
Temp: Not sure / Out by 4pm

For starting out with trouble you ended up putting it to them! Great Pictures and another special day with the son! Good Show Dad.

If only he really enjoyed fishing a bit! Last time he went out with me was 7-8 months ago so it's been a while

Nice fish. Sucks you had all the boat problems. Way to salvage the day though. My son is 5 and he asks me to take him fishing on the boat almost every day. I spend most of the time changing his lures and picking the weeds off his hooks so it seems like I barely get to fish much, but I love that he likes it. He is getting better though.

Keep taking him and teaching him everything you know about it as long as he's interested. It will pay off some day. I now take my dad out and rig his poles and take the weeds off for him. I'm sure it will be life long memories that will also pay off in other ways.hard to find younger kids these days that are dedicated to this sport. Electronics have changed things a lot.

When I was a kid and went on a few trips at that age w my pops (7-10) all I did was trow rocks in the lake and played in the dirt. Had no interest in fishing so at least your
little one has interest in doing it, and even wants to go out. I kinda had to bribe my kid to go out with me on this trip. We had a great time so hopefully the next trip I won't have to
bribe
