When I saw this report they didn't mention the lake, thought for certain it was Silverwood since I broke my rule and actually tried to fish Sunday afternoon (never fish on weekends during summer!), it was nuts out there of course.

So then this morning I saw this. Bad weekend out on the reservoirs and it's not even the 4th of July yet, scary.

Happens every year.

Which is why I don't fish lakes that allow body contact in So Cal at all. It's a dangerous cluster F**** and have found a lot of the lake lice have no respect for anglers or anyone else for that matter. Late fall through early spring, after that, forget about it...

Lol, that's just about sums it up. But the chick needs to be flying the bird and it would be perfect...

Sad sad.

Speculation on my part, but this looks like one of those steering cable failures.

I don't know what kind of boat it was but we all know the dangers of propeller torque and the sudden loss of steering.

I'm curious to find out if this was the culprit

I must admit that in the past I have only worn a PFD when I fished in tournaments as it is required to be worn when under power. I think I am like most on this board that think it can't happen to me. Time to rethink that and get the PFD's out and use them.

I spoke to the lady at the gate yesterday who said the boat was at anchor and apparently swamped possibly due to too heavy an anchor for the boat, a 19 footer...not a bass boat I happened to be fishing near the floating outhouse at the island when they discovered the body of the second victim. He was in the grass near the shore.

I spoke with a Sheriff and they said the samething "Skiper" wrote above. The boat was anchored and swamped. They also mentioned that the fishermen were not that far from shore but got caught up in the weeds. I feel so bad for both the fishermen and their families.

I must have missed the report of your trip somewhere

'twas thinking the same thing...
Maybe Gilligan was in charge of posting the report?
