Decided to hit up one of the OC harbors for a few hours. Threw around the swim bait for close to an hour and struggled with the bass. Got quite a few short bites but no takers. Was fishing some rocks with a swim bait and got hit hard. Felt a good head shake letting me know it most likely was a halibut. After the good head shake line went slack. Reeled in my swim bait to find that it had been bit off at the hook.
Decided that I would throw on a Texas rigged worm and work the eel grass. Still no takers from the bAss but did manage to land my 8th halibut for the year but at 20 inches he went back into the water to grow.
I know that my legal is coming soon.
If anyone is down to hit some harbors sometime let me know. I would even be interested in going in on a boat as well since I normally just fish the shore line.
