Finally convinced the wife into joining me at NPH in our tubes, She being a child of the seventies has a true fear Jaws. After some gentle coaxing she agreed to give it a try and she ended up enjoying herself after she relaxed. We caught a fair amount of sand bass, spotties , and some short halibuts a great day on the water.

Nice , I wouldn't worry about sharks but there's sea lions big enough to sink a boat . Its pretty creepy when they get close and dive , and big rays will eat swimbaits I've caught a few that way .

Great job getting your wife to join you. Tubing harbors isn't easy in harbors when the current drags you around. She must be a trooper. Nice job on the fish too.

Sounds like a great couple's day out on the water. Good company, good fishing and great weather to be out on the water. Looks like she's holding her own out there well!

Noice...think I may have seen you two that day. Was on a skiff with 3 other guys. Your girls a keeper as I'm having a hard time convincing these supposed "grown men" to float the harbor with me haha...congrats

Always nice to see a fishing couple. I used to love float tubing NPH until my knee problem kicked in...LOL
One tip...If you pay attention to the incoming and outgoing tides it can really help you get back to your launch spot or....It can make it really HARD. My buddy and I used to fish the outgoing tide and park our two trucks in opposite spots. Basically riding the outgoing tide. That being said...once we launched from Balboa island and rode the outgoing and man...it took everything in our souls to get back to the launch spot. Big tide swings during the full/new moon cycles can really kick up the chew but then can also be your best friend or worse enemy!
Thanks for the report and good luck in the Sierras!
