It was a SLAY FEST at Santa Ana River Lakes…

These guys fished the regular day session on Friday then back to back Overnight 24-Hour sessions on Friday & Saturday nights from a Pontoon Boat fishing with mackerel and night-crawlers.

Ended with 75 CATFISH (FULL LIMITS) total weight is 225 POUNDS!! Largest catfish weighed in at 8 pounds 6 ounces.

After struggling a bit on Friday afternoon, Staff provided these guys with the info they needed to get on the fish in a big way. Looks like one hell of a fish fry is in store back on base. Congrats Guys!!

Most all the fishing at Santa Ana River Lakes is done from the shore. As such, most of the fish are caught from shore. A boat is great because it gives you the ability to chase the fish and move around. But for shore fishing, we always suggest that you try our a few different spots before you set camp. Shore fishing is easy because you can park very close to your fishing spot. Also, you won't have to bother with tons of weeds or huge wads of moss every time you reel in to check your bait.
Thanks!

Can you bring a two stroke engine boat?
