5/31
Hit the sand at around 8am but the tide was quite high and the water was murky. It was nice to see the sandcrabs were back in full force and many of them had eggs. Spotted a few beans but was only able to land one perch on the sandcrabs.

As the tide began to rise and nothing else in the surf was biting ,I decided to make run at the jetty. Lets just say I chose wisely. 8)

Caught 4 sand bass,1 calico, 1 hali Man those bass pound for pound are excellent fighters.
Oh and I got a surprise catch lets say its not a fish but a super old flashminnow lure.

I wonder if it is possible to refurbish this old lure back into shape maybe change of hooks and new paintjob.

After, that successful session at the dockweiler jetty I just had to comeback for more :D
It started it off very slow ,my usual spots were not producing I even switched to the c-rig with muscles because there were a few corbinas crusing the shallows. Switched back to whitegrub with jig head combo and then it started to heat up. First catch of the day was a small 8 incher sand bass (skunk off my back ). Talked to a few fishermen that said they caughts a hali on some live smelt, it was nice to know that there were some hali's in the area.
Few minutes and a couple cast later my line stops in its tracks as if it were snagged on something. Then this "snag" starts peeling off line. Oh boy here we go! I could tell it was a hali by the signature headshakes. Finally, I land the fish happy but the same time a disappointed because once again the legal halibut eludes me. She taped out to 21 1/2 inches(PB) Oh well maybe next time :)

Kept on fishing for another hour and near the edge I get hammered. I could tell right away it was a fat ole bass because the way they love to run for cover. This time I would not get snagged in the rocks, I button down the drag and hauled it up to the shore.

She was 14 inches and had some girth on her. I tried to hold her by my thumb and ended up getting sliced up on the thumb. Anyways ended up catching 4 sand/spotted bass and 1 hali.
I cannot wait until the next trip :D
Btw anyone have tips for painting the LC? Should I just use some silver nail polish?

Nice going on the mix bag and your PB flattie! You could use silver nail polish but just be careful not to lay it too thick. Best bet is to airbrush it if you have one or some silve spray paint. Good luck and congrats!
