5/29 Castaic from the dam.

Went to fish the dam this morning to get my fix. My boats in the shop and won't be ready for another week. Anyways got there around 7:00, had a nice one on by 7:05. Unfortunately that was the only one for me that made it to shore. Had plenty of little bites and missed a few good strikes. Left around 11:00. I'm new to this site, I usually fish the ocean (palos verdes), but when I just want a quickie I hit up one of the local lakes.

Nice fish...it's a good day when you bring home dinner for two, especially from shore.

I was using sardines with a small mosquito hook, on 6lb test.

I was using a 3/4 ounce drop shot weight on the bottom, with 2 hooks tied about 14 inches apart a foot above the weight. I use palomar knots and tie the hooks straight to the line. I did get bit on my 4lb ultralight with 2 hooks and no weight. It was a small schoolie and came off right before i got it to shore. There were a few fish caught in the morning by a few other guys. I imagine certain days one can do fairly well from shore. Can't wait until the topwater bite turns on.
