View Full Version : Memorial Day DVL report

I went out on Memorial day and thought it was going to be crowded but only 15 trailers in the lot. Got there at 6:45 am. got on the water at 7. This was a good day. i use a drop shot. but any thing you put on the hook work. Senko, Roboworm, flukes, and any color. A couple on a pit boss fish on a t-rig. Caught about 30 bass working sticks on the shore. But you had to work and work. The bass are spread out. Saw some spawning bluegill on beds. The fish are about 1-3 lbs. i swear i thought some were 5 lbs until i saw them.

Great Fun Fishing with your son!

Mine used to go with me all the time; until the salt mine demanded his attention. The grand kids are getting to the age where they will take his place!

Actually "so cal bass fisherman" is my son. He is learning to make is own posts/reports. I took the pictures but the post is his.

Got It! Now I understand: he posted it and you're Dad, (SurfCityUSA). Still Surfing? I use to, but 'gotten too plump and old!!

Nope. No surfing, just live here in Huntington Beach. But I admit to the plump and old part too. I live 1.5 miles from the ocean but drive 85 miles to get to DVL. Crazy ain't it! We do get out surf fishing once in a while but I grew up on freshwater fishing in the pacific northwest, Colorado and then my teen years in Highland, CA. Fished BBL, Silverwood, Perris on opening day way back when.

Same here...gotten' too old and fat for surfing. I am retired now; but was a Professional Land Survey when I worked. I did the construction surveying on Lake Perris , Lake Silverwood and the outlet tunnel from Silverwood when they were built...way back when...! I live in Beaumont, not too far from DVL, Perris or Silverwood.
