Hello everyone.

Can any members who frequently does party boats and long range trips give me a suggestion for a rod. I have been out of the party boat scene for years and am recently getting back into it. I currently have my Newell C338-5 in the shop for service and the Tiburon frame and handle upgrade. I am basically getting ready for 1-3 days trip from San Diego. My question is what is a good rod to throw irons and live bait with this reel? I am on a limited budget so basically what I am asking is what is the best buy for my intended purpose? Since the last time I went on a party boat, there has been a lot of changes on the scene and I have a lot to learn.

Thank you.
Raymond

What lb test are you going to use? Do you prefer an 8, 9, or 10 foot rod? And budget?

Turners has nice califronia inshore rods, you can always get the 20-40 rated rod, i think they retail around $100. You can also find a calstar 800m frrom $150-175 used
