Castaic 5/25 - Tryin to Avoid the Lice

Received some intel on Saturday with the where abouts of the Striper schools... From an LMB fisherman no less... So I decided to hit Castaic early in the morning and hope to avoid the holiday weekend lice.

Didn't get out as early as planned but the intel was good, the schools were in the coordinates given, I just didn't do a good enough job of getting them to bite. We worked hard for 6 in about 3 hrs.

I finally decide to drop anchor in the middle of a big school that wouldn't touch our troll rigs. For about 30 - 40 minutes it went wide open for my son. He got 6 while the other 3 of us scratched out 4 between us. All rigs were set exactly the same and we were casting right on top of him, but my son had the hot stick. He also got the 2 biggest of the day.

We picked up 2 more while trolling back to the dock. Off the lake by 1 pm and no problems with lice. It was a good day.

Thanks Guys...

You all have more experience chasing the jailbirds on the troll and I'm sure you would have had more success... I would have stuck to it all day and worked on my learning curve but I had to create some action so that I wouldn't lose the family's attention. Haha! We ended up with a couple limits on the day and MH&F Jr thinks he's the Man because he caught the most and biggest!

Some of you have mentioned that Castaic is ready to jump off and I think you're right.

Hey Cutbait... You should know the LMB guy that gave up the intel. He's a good friend of Trailblazer's... They even claim to be like brothers!
