I got up at 5:00am and left my house to fish the LAB in the back bay. I went solo on a very high tide. I had to use my body boarding fins as I still have not replaced my last pair of tubing fins. Damn they are tight, but I was not going to let that stop me.
I arrived at the spot at 5:50am and set up and the tube was in the water by 6:05 or so. I kicked down the channel with docks on my right and docks on my left (this is a good spottie spot as I caught a few legals here from the rocks). I kicked all the way down to the end. I missed a good bite as my chronarch was not in gear..damn it. I went all the way to the end and starting throwing in the open portion of the water. Nothing. I started back in and wham had another bite which was hooked and the hook slipped out of the fish mouth. I was almost ready to accept a skunk and just before I arrived at my launching spot, this shorty calico had my ghost shrimp Hawg Seeker. I took a quick picture and back in the water it went.
