This a combo s/w and f/w report.
Went poke-poling along the jeddy inside Morro Bay this morning. I tried to hit it at the lowest tide which is always best for this area, but there was a "high" low tide today, so fishing was tough. I still managed several Monkey-faced eels, and a few nice sized Kelp Rockfish. I usually get some Grass Rockfish, Yellow & Black Rockfish, Chuckleheads, Cabezon and the occassional tiny Ling there. There was about a dozen Sea Otters actively feeding this morning. They were as close as 25-30 feet at times. Nice to see them making a comeback.
The day before, we hit the upper pond at Cal Poly SLO for some evening action. It was quite breezy when we arrived, perfect for reactionbait presentations. I quickly caught a healthy 12" LMB on my jerkbait and ended up catching a few more smaller ones later. My Cousin and his kids concentrated on Bluegill and ended up catching a whole mess of them.
Also did some mtn biking up there. A great place for that, too...
