Has anyone picked up a mako or thresher lately offshore of Dana/ Laguna.
I fish for sharks in a RIB.

Has anyone picked up a mako or thresher lately offshore of Dana/ Laguna.

I fought a 6ft? Mako (jigged some macs up before leaving the harbor) briefly when I was at the county line between Los Angeles and Ventura on Wednesday when I was out on the Gentleman from ciscos. It was exciting to watch it go and feel it peel line from my lexa 400
Talk with the guys hanging around the Party boat office in Dana point harbor and also the boat captain if you get there before they go out. They know the mako places to fish and have shared the info in the past. Lots of Makos caught off Dana point over the past couple of seasons.
