View Full Version : 5/13 Afternoon surf session

So my gf and I decided to hit the beach today because of the heat. Got there and started to toss some camos 1 min later BAM! Landed a walleye surfperch did another cast and BAM! Landed another but this time a barred surfperch. So I decided to toss some LC and 4 mins later BAM! My line started peeling and I didn't know what it was. As I was reeling it in I then realized that I had caught a halibut.(my first Hali ever) she came up a bit short though. 19" long. (She was released) Overall amazing day.

Where were you fishing? I'll be up at Emma Wood in Ventura for the next couple days going for perch. I would love to land a Hali, never have. I assume LC stands for Lucky Craft? How do you avoid the salad when using one of those? Nice catch man.
