SWATin it with Pontoon

Been hittin the surf and lake with Pontoon, both if us trying to get on the leaderboard but lately has been hit and miss. Getting in some short Halibuts here and there with more skunks in there then I want to say, even the kittys have been absent. Last Friday I ran down to a local AO which I haven't been to for a while and Pontoon said he had a few hours to kill so he came down and met at greylight. Conditions seemed fishy and we tossed what we had at it for a few hours for nadda.
We decided to call it and Pontoon worked his way back down the beach from where he came and I went the other. Last few casts I did manage one shorty and another little guy I can't ID:

Unfortunately, I can't ID the fish either. Looks like a queen fish or some other brown bait but not too sure. Glad you beat the skunk though.

Thanks for the ID fellas, you guys are awesome...........for 'bout an hour there was birds diving right on top of me and that explains why, you'd think there woulda been larger models cruising about as well.........

I'm almost afraid to post up. After six or eight straight trips with the skunk stripes and a long time not participating on the board I'm afraid the S.W.A.T. Commander is going to call me in in front of the S.W.A.T. Executive board for disciplinary action. :Embarrassed:

It was definitely good to at least get the boat in the water. Even though we lost enough swim baits on the troll I'm glad you got to see your welding job on the roller guides held up great and the boat loads up real easy. :Cool:

I was sure one of us was going to bring a legal flattie up on the sand Friday. The conditions looked good and there seemed to be bait in the water but I certainly couldn't come through. I had an idea after we parted ways you weren't going to settle for a shut out. Good job John!:Thumbs Up:

Terry, I'm very happy your boat trailer is working out for you but it was your design what made it work so well, your attention to detail is second to none, I simply had to assemble what you created. Felt really bad about the U-rig, wouldn't have been so bad had it been later in the day, I'll pay more attention next time :Rolls Eyes:.
We'll get another off Fri in there soon and I bet we'll have better results, good times none the less :Thumbs Up:.

Robert, yeah it's been a little harder getting to the surf ever since I moved from Huntington Beach so my presentation percentage has been slacking, will have to work on stepping that up a bit, seems like things are picking up so hopefully............ :Confused:
