AO : LA County Beach.
So I receive a text message; right out of the blue, Saturday night from Don aka: bachiboy, it read ...."So am I gonna have the pleasure of fishing with you tomorrow?"
I felt like I had received a text request from the GodFather of surf fishing .... "How could I refuse such an offer"! ha ha ha!
We starting texting back and forth ... discussing the condition predictions, our assault tactics etc. and we finally agreed to meet up at 0500 hrs and start our hike in at 0515 hrs.
We started casting with feet wet at 0530 hrs. For the first 30 minutes .... nothing but chopped salad (Oh :Rolls Eyes: ... Brotha!) on every retrieval, plus having murky water too! Not really the best of conditions :EyePop: to find fish .... so we thought! Don and I had had-it with this AO and had agreed to relocate to another AO after one more cast ........ when at 0610 hrs my rod tip goes bendo! It makes me a believer in ":Big Grin: Last Cast Luck" !
While I was reeling in my fish ... Don was telling me that he thought it was a legal Hali.... and we both started :Big Grin::Big Grin: grinning! I hope so! We'll see!
Then Don's rod goes bendo ...... while he is waist deep with his fish .... Don see's my fish crusing past him and he predicts it to be 22 1/2" and I guessed it to be 23"! So after I slide my fish past him through the skinny and on to the sand, Don hurries and releases his YFC and together we tapped this bad boy out at a solid 24"!
Yes another legal! :Beer Toast:

Don wants us to hurry up and get right back out there while the bite was on .... so Don also tells me to hurry up and to catch another so he can get another bite too .... Ha ha ha!

I cast a few more times and BAM! .... BENDO in my rod and then Don's rod tip goes BENDO too! .....A DOUBLE HOOK UP!!!!! :Fishing Catch::Fishing Catch: Don posing with our two fish ... mine about 14" and his is the larger at 20" on the right side :Envious:. Way to go Don! :Big Smile::Applause:

Don said that he did get a few more solid hits but they didn't stick! Darn! The bite shut down but Don kept saying to me ... "Hurry up and hook into another fish so that I (Don) can get another hook up too"! Ha ha ha! I guess I'm Don's lucky rabbit's foot! Ha ha ha!
The bite was good from 0610 hrs until 0640 hrs. Oh well!
We had a surprise visit from our good friend Albert aka: Jinbow while we were there, we all got a chance to visit and to catch up on old times and to share some good laughs together! It was great hooking up with you once again Albert! Let's not let so much time go by before hitting the salt together again!
