Had to make a choice, being that the swell is higher today at N.SAMO area than it will be tomorrow, so hit up an O.C. spot for some Spotties or whatever else would bite. !!! http://www.scsurffishing.com/forums/images/smiles/icon_smile.gif http://www.scsurffishing.com/forums/images/smiles/icon_redface.gif Missed the turn off AGAIN !!!
and got there 1/2 hour after sunrise http://www.scsurffishing.com/forums/images/smiles/icon_mad.gif BUT did manage a few in the short
time before the rising high tide would shut the bite down, but sure was a nice clear morn. for a change http://www.scsurffishing.com/forums/images/smiles/icon_smile.gif Was hoping to get some of that "Fools Bait'
in the mail yesterday to see how it does on the Bass, but it did not come yet http://www.scsurffishing.com/forums/images/smiles/icon_rolleyes.gif So threw the usual "3in. gulp watermelon minnow " on a 1/4oz.
round jig head.

Nice job! The bass bite is impressive as always. Were you fishing the incoming tide?

Yes sir. Got there at about a 2.0 and hung in there to about a 3.5 then it seemed to get a little to high to be going for

Bass after that.

I see. I'll have to try a foot session one of these days. Tubing is fun and all, but packing, cleaning, and setting up all my equipment can be a pain.

Seeing as how we both were bass fishing and I got skunked and you caught the hell out of them, I am going to conclude that I just suck at bass fishing LOL

NO, I would not sat that  and I don,t want to say or look like I am better than anyone else

I think dailing in a certain A.O. in differing conds. (every day is different) is an ongoing learning experience.

In that particular A.O. accurate casting in specific areas of certain structure and presentation technique is

the key.

Risky casts get monster bass. I will try to hug the docks, i get as close as possible. Sometimes with a T-rig, I'll purposely cast onto the dock, and carefully slide my grub so it just falls over the edge, and I'll put slack in the line and walk almost directly behind the dock, so i can simply drag my grub in the prime position. I sometimes lose a monster this way every once in a while, but for the most part, i'll nail some whopper bass well over 15 inches this way.

When im fishing the eelgrass, instead of simply letting it sink and if it lands on top of the eelgrass, I'll gently jiggle it with slack on the drop of each bounce until it slips through deep into it, and onto the bottom..

Alot of big bass will be wedged all the way down sitting amongst the roots of the grass. I dont worry about getting hung up, because if i do, I'll use it to my advantage. Think of it like a cat watching something rustling around in the grass, the motion of the grass will really get the attention of every fish around. Those spotties will dive right into it, grab your plastic, and free you of the grass :D

Great job on the spotties. I've tried the fools bait in the shrimp color to no avail. I purchased the 5 inch size and that might be to big. The article that started the fools bait info. showed the angler using a 3 inch size and nailing them. So the next time I'm going to cut the head down so I will have a shorter size and see if that works. I should if thought it out a little better because ghost shrimp are not 5 inches long. 3 inches is more like it. As to the fools bait the guy does a fast return on the order maybe 4 to 5 days at the most. I think that he also ships free with an order over $15.00.
