Got off work and the weather made me really want to fish. So I hit the lake from 4-7:30.
Threw a lipless, drop shot and jig and had my bluegill set up.
No bass, so fished for gills and got a couple. Went back for bass and bam.....a plastic bag.
Couple of casts later, bam! Pulled in a solid 2 pound bass.
Picked back up the bluegill pole at sunset with the bug activity and managed some, finally.
Then, I saw some fry fluttering at the surface so i dragged the float near the little commotion, and one tap, 2 tap, sink, fish on!
I thought it was the monster gill I've been searching for. It finally rolls on the surface, and..

With a #12 mosquito hook and 2 lb. test, it took a minute or 2 to land it.
Great, crazy day.
