just wanted to know when is the catfish opener?? i been hearing that the lake is really low and this and that. do you guys think that will affect the catfish bite? or are we going to have to do something different this season? im thinking that it might not be as deep by the trees as last year.

thanks

We have been stocking Blue Catfish in Corona Lake and Santa Ana River Lakes every Wednesday, for the past 12 weeks. Since we are still in Trout Season, the fishing pressure on catfish has been minimal. However for those targeting catfish, the action has been excellent. Check out some of the recent photos on our website http://www.fishinglakes.com and our facebook page. The Lakes have a huge population of catfish to catch right now, there is no need to wait for the “Official” catfish opener, if you want to catch catfish now.

Yes, Corona Lake, just like every other lake in So. Calif. is low, due to the drought. The Water District is doing everything possible to keep the elevation up by pumping water into the Lake. The last big rain we had, saturated the canyon stream and some water is flowing into the Lake now. We need another good rain and the Lake should fill up quickly.

Thanks!
