Been hitting the duct EVERY weekday for the past week trying to learn me somethin about these stripers. My job has recently put me in charge of a section of land that keeps me within ten minutes of the duct Monday thru Friday. So i logged into FNN for the first time in months to lurk lol! While lurking I came across a post by trailblazer that very specifically requested that period on FNN that are fishing the duct should be reporting instead of just jocking on the people who catch fish. Then I realized, o crap, that's me. Anyways here's how the last week has treated me. Friday last week:LC, 4 hours, sunny, 1 dink.
Monday: LC, 3 hours, partly cloudy, 1 barely legal.
Tuesday:LC, 4 hours, windy and rainy, 1 bite for nada.
Wednesday:LC, LC Sammy for TW, 2 hours, weird weather off and on rain and sunny, One blow up TW, missed it like a rookie.
And finally, Today!
Got out around 10:00 Nice and sunny. I got to the first of 3 spots I have been hitting. Within fifteen minutes I get a nice strong hit, but to no avail. Then I moved down away from the gate and saw something I never thought I would see. I saw a HUGE school of stripers chillin just under the surface of the water, mostly decent sized with a could of BIG lookin ones. I have been waiting for an opportunity like this to treat out my skills. I have been thinking, maybe they don't like my lure, maybe they aren't in there, maybe my line is too thick yada yada. Anyways, I cast in and see the kind of show interest, but not really. A couple small ones chasing it, but nada. The school disappears.... so I then walk away thinking "well you screwed that up." Then I cast, and with a slow retrieve I hook up with a solid fish. And finally, a legal fish on my new favorite lure lol. I consider my self a bass fisherman but damn... You can't argue with the fight these things put up. They are amazing.

Then I walked back over to where the gates were and then I see an even bigger school of fish right next to the gates. I cast of to the side if them this time, many followers but no takers. Walked back aways and hookup again, another legal! My first legal duct limit ever! Hence the personal achievement!

Threw my LC for a lil while longer for nada, but I am happy now lol. I took a couple pictures of the schools for shiz and gigs.
