Santa Barbara surf help?

My wife and I came to Santa Barbara for a little trip and some surf fishing. I went out for a short afternoon session just south of Stearns Wharf. On the incoming high tide I found nothing but zero water clarity and tons of salad. Can anyone help point me to a more favorable location? I'm hoping to get out for grey light sessions the next three mornings. PM if you can help a visitor to the area out, or if you want to meet up for a session.
