AV has been slow. I was able to locate a few fish with intel from yolo. There has hardly been any flow in the AV. Flukes and Pointers have been productive.

First fish on my new kistler rod. Thanks to a good friend who turned me onto kistler's american made rods, you know who you are.

The still water of the duct, look closely and you'll see a deer across the duct

Careful, this is the bite you don't want when you go fishing.

The LMB population is increasing in the AV

The following pics are of my son's first catches of LMB in the owens valley. I am getting him prepared for the drag peeling duct stripers... baby steps lol

I'm certainly not making high numbers of fish in the AV, but it hasn't been too bad.

That is outstanding, good job on the fish, I used to live in Quartz Hill when I was younger and id fish the aqua quak around goaties pass usually suffering the sunk. If I knew then what I know now I would have done better. I never have seen deer up there but plenty of diamond backs and mojave greens, thanks for the report.

What kinda rattler is that?

I barfed when I saw a couple of those pics!

Good work starting the kid off slow... don't wanna scare him too early with stripers

had to do some research myself, it looks to be a juvenile southern pacific rattlesnake according to www.californiaherps.com

I'm so scared of snakes as I scrolled down on my phone I lifted my thumb as it passed over the snake pics

I'm not afraid of snakes, but I certainly would not want a rattle snake bite.

Now spiders I am utterly afraid of. My wife has to kill all the spiders in the the house lol. She's brave, she just grabs the "chancla" and goes to town lol

Spiders no biggie.. I can squeeze them between my fingers no problem, even black widows...

Snakes? I'm so bad I pick my feet up if I happen to run one over

awesome pics and catches mike. your recent fish definitely have more size than the bako fugitives i've been landing out here  but still fun to catch nonetheless!

I am not a fan of snakes either. Never seen any other than the greenies out at the duct.
I run them over. Heard that a guy changing a tire got poked by a fang stuck in the tire
and got pretty sick.
Was out dove hunting one time and a Mojave got his fangs caught in my snake chaps. It
took all the rational thought I had to keep from trying to shoot him off of my leg. Was able
to knock him off with the barrel and then shoot him!
