Irvine 3/1/14

The friends and I decided to hit Irvine this past Saturday to hone in our rainy day fishing skill. We arrived at ~630 to an almost empty lot and was greeted by Daniella at the Tackle Store. We picked up our rental boat paper and startted off the morning trolling before the expected down pour. The first round around the lake was a bust so we camped by the West Shore. We sat there for 45 minutes and still nothing. We hop around the lake a few more times and around 9:45-10 we settled by the spot where we saw a guy caught an 8lber the last time we were there. 20 minutes into it, I saw my rod twitch and I yanked on it. This one felt a little different because I can feel good consistent headshakes throughout the battle. It turned out to be a nice looking bass - my first legal (i considered it legal if it's 12 inches or more) and was safely released! After that bass, we got consistent bites including a 4.75lb trout (one of my friends personal best) and another nice (3.25)lb trout. We called it a damn good day at 12:15 and headed back home. This day was a little extra special because I've gotten enough points to earn myself a spot in the Irvine 300 club and got a free anuual pass- Thanks Irvine Lake!.

Great report and pics! Sounds like a great day on the water considering the bad weather potential. Nice bass and trout catches. I wish I would consistently remember to use my rewards card and I would have already hit that 300 club! Lol.Congrats and enjoy the free fishing year! Gotta love the Vine and it's top notch staff.
