My buddy Dennis and I went back to the spot in Elizabeth canyon where I found some nice fish last Friday...there were fish on the meter, but for the most part they didn't want the sardines and bloodworms we offered them. I managed to get one to hit a flylined chunk, and it found the anchor rope immediately...this time I had help, and we got the line loose before the striper got off...

It was probably four pounds and change...Dennis caught a 6 inch microdink on a bloodworm...and that was it...no other bites...we finally pulled anchor and headed to Necktie, where there were no marks...checked the buoy line area...nothing...checked some other places and saw little on the meter as well...anchored near the launch ramp on some decent marks...no bites....oh well, at least it wasn't a skunk for either of us, but the easy fishing of the last few months seems, at least for me, to be winding down...maybe it's time to find some new spots or use some other techniques.

Nice to hear that you beat the skunk.

I wouldn't be surprised if they went on the winter fast but they lasted so long that I think they might not quit this winter.

Who knows? I guess we'll find out after the storms blow through...should be nice weather by the middle/end of next week.
