I've got to start this report with a great big Happy Birthday to my good friend Trollmiester.......... Happy Birthday Buddy! :Cool:
Even though I wasn't going to be able to fish today Trolly gave me an early morning wake up call and said he was going to stop by on his way to the lake. Trolly rolled up with the Lund in tow and we discussed his game plan for the day. Just before he took off for the Vine he told me he was disappointed I was going to have to miss fishing on his birthday. Oh man, I was so bummed I wasn't going to be able to fish I didn't remember what day this was! I felt pretty damn bad about it too. especially having such a blast last weekend on my birthday. :Embarrassed:
After Trolly drove off I walked back into the house and told my wife what a dumb-axx I felt like and told her I was pretty bummed about it. Then I remembered that look my daughter used to give me that always melted my heart and got me to give in. So, I tried it and it worked!!! Needless to say I was packed up and on my way to the lake in no time at all. :Wink:
I called Trolly on my way to the lake and he said he'd be waiting at the dock for me when I got there. Sure enough he was waiting for me at the dock and I jumped in the boat along with Taper Steve who needed a ride to our first spot. Once we got there we were met by Rooster, Hook um Dano, Pedro Pirate and of course Chunk. As we got the gear unloaded Rooster was bringing in his first fish of the day with some help of Pedro Pirate.......

We fished for a while without any luck so Trolly and I decided to pack up and hit the area Trolly caught the big Wiper last week. I was the first to hook up and I thought I was going to put and end to my shut out streak but well, all I've got is another "Lost a big one fish story" :Confused:
Trolly on the other hand wasn't going to be shut out and proved it with another big Irvine Lake Sunshine Bass......

We fished this spot for most of the day with me getting teased with some runs but just couldn't connect. Trolly on the other hand was able to get one cat to the net.....

The bite slowed down so we decided to head back over to meet back up with Rooster, Dano and Pedro Pirate to find out that Rooster kept his hot streak with the kitties going with another nice fish. :Cool:
Even though the bite wasn't red hot off the hook it was definitely another great day at the Vine with Good Friends and some pretty good laughs added in. :Cool:
Once we got the boat loaded up we all drove over to meet up with Hitts On, Hometown, Troutdog and some more Team 57 members who spent the day helping out with the kids tournament that I heard turned out to be a great success. :Thumbs Up: Hitts and the guys had a little something they saved up for Trolly....... They had a name for it but well, here it is.......:LOL:
