Got out on South Lake and fished for a few hours with one of our guests yesterday morning. Fishing was ok, for me it was more of a scouting trip....wanted to find where all the Alpers are hiding so I can share that with our guests. Ended up finding big fish in the channel by the island, off the rock slide and several very nice fish in the back right corner of the main lake. Between the two of us we landed 7 fish in 3 hours including a 5lb 6oz fish I caught just before heading back to work.

Saw TO on the way back to the dock....he apparently slayed 'em while he was out.

I've got a quick question
On the Parcher web site there is no mention of launching personal boats
Is it rental only?
Thank you for any info

Due to the water level being so low, personal boats are no longer able to be launched this season.

In red text.
Lake Sabrina appears to have private boat launches still available since the water level on that lake hasn't dropped as drastically, however.

Very nice fish Smitty. I hope to get me one of them soon.

Well, right now it is rental boats only because of the water level. Kayakers and Float Tubers can still launch without difficulty, although it's a bit of a walk down from the launch ramp gate to the water. In normal years there are no problems launching a private boat at South Lake. It's a public ramp so it's free, although we do ask for a voluntary $5 launch fee to go towards Alpers stocking. The launch ramp is really quite nice actually. There are no size limitations but the speed limit is 10 miles per hour to keep the power boats and jet skis off the lake.

Smitty, I hope you guys are able to get your pontoons off the water.
Gonna be kinda hard with the water hella low like that.
The fish were jumping everywhere when we stopped in though.
Next time we're gonna 0wN at South Lake.
