Aloha Fellow Fisher Peps
Wud up DavidE... i saw your report bruddah.
Sorry for the late report but i had to sell my Harley Monday night
following our trip then vacuum seal my fillets. Before i knew it's
Wednesday already. All along trying to hold down the business...shew.
enough whinning & on to fishing ><>
Had a blast fishing with these great bunch of guys. mos def good times...!!!
This years group was the best thus far. This was my 4th annual trip with Mike.
He has thee chartermastering down.
Though first day with seeing ALLLLLLLLL..... those jumping fish & they not wanting to
bite for us. i was amoung the fortunate 5 to land 1 on day one. The second day was like
someone turned on the bite button. DavidE was the first to hook up then it was
on. Definately noticed the florocarbon made a difference on some stops. My neighbor Frank
had #30 floro on which i taught him the seaguar knott & gets a solo hook up. So i tied on a
strip of floro on my #30 outfit with a 1/0 hook for the next stop & i get a solo show. Others
hooked up soon after. We lost a few with either pulled hook or line snapped. i dropped down #20
line to try & up my bite ratio. I did land one on #20 but took awhile to land it. then i hooked a nicer fish on
#30 with floro which kicked my okole... i was exhausted & arms sore but quickly re-tied a mustad hook &
got right back out for another ><>. We all know how DavidE likes Mustad...hahahaha.
I had 8 bites all together, lost 2 at gaff and my 8' Penn Californian jig stick snapped in half. i manage to land 3 fish
hand off a fish to John, my neighbor Frank's buddy whom was having a skunker until
i helped him out. A few of the guys said the next bite is John's turn to pull on these fiesty
tunas. We came to this meter mark & i made cast right next to John. I immediately get picked up...
did the 3 count put my reel in gear & set the hook then said here John, go ahead. He had
this huge smile on his face & i was glad to help him get one on the boat. Later after we where
heading home, i was bummed to hear lil David got the skunkers. I would of happily handed 1 off
to him as well.... he was the only one to go home with-out a fish. i believe capt.paul gave up some
frozen fillets from a previous trip. Everyone else had a few on board. i love to help my fellow angler out
if i can.
The only bummer was when we where getting our fish @ the docks, my neighbor Frank didn't get his fish.
apparently the deckies screwed up the numbers & some how misplaced Frank's catch (3 fish). a fellwo angler
Bill gave up some fillets... BIG MAHALOZ BILL...!!!!!!!!!!!!!
