Yeesh, fishing has been tough lately from the shore!
Havent been able to bring my buddies boat in here due to the ship in port every week, not to mention im tryin to let it rest since apparently when people see us do it, they think it's cool...

Anyways, sunday we set out to pitch the small boy docks in here. It was a tad slow, similar to the last few trips ive made out here. Not sure if its the water vis, which is outstanding, or theyre just not stacked in here yet? Or the possibility that wonderland has spoiled me

We managed decent pickings on low tide, even a calico off the beach. We fished the entire shoreline for 8 bass, which is a rough day in my book!

Majority of the bass were caught on warblades, in grey and white color and chartreuse and white color. 1oz heads, easier to make it down to the bottom where they've been hiding!

MAN I cant wait for spring and summer, the bite out here was ridonkulous last year! Crossing my fingers for a repeat! Keep your lines tight boys... til next time!

She made that 5" look like a minnow! Just didn't want to fool around with the "picture magic". ill let the reference do the talking. Id say if she wasn't 3#'s she was just shy!

awesome report and pictures!!! love the under water pix, cool stuff.
i was debating weather or not to buy some warblades for inshore action, i guess i'll be buying some.
pretty cool that you can still get some action in the winter months, only in LA!!

thanks,

Alex

Thanks dudes.

Big ups on the war blades from my end. But we sometimes tweak our own. We shrink wrap waterproof tape to the blades and just stab em thru the hooks. Sometimes it's a little lighter on the pocket ya know? But the gold spoon is killer inshore from a boat. Something about the retrieval from the rocks back to the boat just tickles their fancy more than casting from shore

can I fish that spot with my rapid gate pass ?

Well you know the stipulations of your rapid gate pass right? There's only certain times in the day you are allowed access to the base. Pm me ill kick you the info, but on the low the fishing pop has grown in here :/

But the exact spots where the boats are moored is a no go regardless

That area is so under fished. Its a great spot for the big boys. Tried to fish there a long time ago and was escorted out by the rubber boat with a very big Marine, toting an even large SAW. Needless to say it took the doctor 40 minutes to pull all of the seat cover out of my *****.
