I'm planning a trip to Pismo. Have any of you guys ever tried surf fishing for perch there ? I need some tips . I watched a few youtube videos it looks pretty simple .

Try using plastic sandworms by Berkley (2inch) these have always worked for me when fishing for perch. Also bring light tackle thats all you need. Good Luck! hope this helps.:Big Grin:

Right in front of PCV is pretty good. Fish the holes and on incoming.

Does it have to be BSP?, lots of nice rock fish to be had from the rocks north of Cayucos up to San Simeon

forget the perch my uncle lives a lil down the way n oceano n he goes for the sharks! catches em all the time should try for the big boys like that i would! just sayin!

one thing I've noticed about that area - the beaches can be full of sand crabs, many of them gigantic, yet I've never done well with them. Our best luck has been with motor oil/red flake grubs.
