This report is dedicated to Daniela & Jimmy for all your hard work and everything you do for all of us! Your the BEST!
BTW Congrats Jimmy!
So after not having the best results the first 3 Masters Tournament qualifiers it was clear we had to hit the chalkboard and come to the MLK with a master game plan in place.

My partner in crime for this event was my good buddy 5150. We had many long talks about what it is going to take to get us to the podium. Dan aka 5150 was working overtime many long nights developing some new patterns to add to our lures to give us any little bit of advantage we could have. The lab aka Dans Garage came out with some really nice additions and we were both excited to see how the trout were going to like them.

Part one of the game plan.
Pre fish Friday & run some new lures and see where the aggressive fish were and what flavors they were liking.
Part 1 check
Arrived Friday around 11am launched the boat and metered a lot of fish all over the lake. Trolled for about 2 hours paying close attention to the meter gathering info and once I found out what they liked I quickly put 4 in the boat. Fish came quick and the grade was much better this week for me anyways. Most were at 3lbs :Big Grin:
Ran into One of the Big Team 57 Bosses aka Big Daddy out with his Grandson Aaron aka Lil Daddy aka Bad Guy Killa
Shared some of the info I came up with and they put on a clinic.

I didn't want the trout getting to familiar with my lures so I put all the trout gear away. Took off to a new spot we call lure cove and proceeded to hunt some trophy cats. Kinda funny fishing 4lb ultralight gear one minute and heavy salt gear and 20lb test the next minute. That's what is so great about Irvine Lake. But its also is partially Trollys Fault. :Envious::Envious::Envious:

Ended up getting quite a few nice kitty runs and after putting a few on shore and releasing some I put out the call to Big Daddy to come join me for some nice kitty action .

Big Daddy and Lil Daddy with one of the kittys. Big daddy said it was around 7-8lbs ... I say it was closer to 10 :LOL:

So its now 5pm and were all off the lake and all the Team 57 crew starts rolling in and it was great fun with great food from beginning to end. Lots of other Teams were stopping by all throughout the night joining in on the fun and wishing all the best of luck for the next day. Great meeting the La Anglers & the Dough Boyz and BB Custom Rods crew.
Anyways im all fired up and I went to move the truck at 1am and it was like a ghost town. I couldn't believe it. It went from a rocking party to everyone sleeping by 1am. And I am the old guy here? :Rolls Eyes:
Hitts I missed ya Buddy  Congrats BTW
Ok so now its show time! Tourney day Master Qualifier 5am not sure if I got any sleep or not but who cares. Its time to check in and what a great way to start the day then seeing Daniela smiling as always greeting all and working hard getting everyone set for the 6am start time.

Day started off with a nice little bang. 5150 quickly got on the board and our zone and game plan was going according to plan. The next few hours was a lot of second guessing. Some proven producers were not even getting a look the following day. WTH is going on the meter is lit up and there not liking all the boat pressure is our best guess.
At this point we go to a completely different area of the lake that I know was not getting the pressure but the numbers were not there for my liking. The meter showed not much activity and we took a chance and didn't pay off. Problem was that wasted at least 1 hour of prime fishing time.
Went back to our original game plan trolling zone and it was almost empty. It appears everyone got frustrated and left and about 30 mins trolling the zone again it was on .:Thumbs Up: The trout turned on and were striking violently.
Just as we passed our good buddies Team Troll Toon and TaperSteve I get a wicked strike. Followed by 2 long runs and I mean long runs. This was a big fish and I think everyone in the lake knew it! I had Team Troll toon rooting me on along with a lot of other people. I was just praying nothing went wrong and I didn't farm it in front of what felt like the world was watching
As I am fighting this as it gets closer I can see that entire back of my lure is gone. The trout absolutely destroyed the lure and lucky for me the other treble was held up just long enough. 5150 did a super job netting the fish as it turned to go for 1 last run Dan appeared to have noticed what was going on as well and made it count. 10.35 on the scale and good for 4th place and a Master spot :Dancing Banana:

Shortly after it was Dans turn and within minutes his rod goes off and puts up one hell of a fight and 5150 is in the running with a really nice 3.85 bow that also turns out to place and earn Dan a Trip to the masters! I could not have asked for a better day. Congrats Dan! Hope we can get paired up.
Well in the end we find out that Team 57 did have one hell of a tourney. Several Team 57 made the masters !!!
Lots walked away with Cash and we all walked away with great memories that will never be forgotten!
