White bird ?

Seen this in our backyard tree tonight way up high, was thinking it was a balloon or bag stuck in the tree because its been windy here in Riverside today. Took a pic tonight of it and it kind of looks like a white owl maybe. See its black feet, what do ya think. Kind of a poor pic. Lousy angle but looks like a Night Heron. Smaller and more compact then the Blue Heron. Very common in SoCal near bodies of water. Used to roost in the rigging of the family sailboat in Newport.

Looks like a heron or egret you actually can see its eye and beak,pointing left if you enlarge the pic,just my guess.

Black Crown Night Heron was also my first guess. Just how tall is it? And does it make a real strange sound that I won't try to type.
