Launched around 7:30 and went straight to the Necktie fleet...anchored up in 95 feet and threw the fresh sardine chunks, and had no bites at all...saw some boats catching a few, one in particular a little shallower than us, so after an hour of skunkage we moved into 75 feet and anchored...had better marks on the meter there, and pretty soon I had a schoolie in the boat...my buddy Bob watched me catch about 6 of them until he figured out that his hook was too big...after downsizing that, he began to get hooked up too...
Best fish today were two at about three pounds each

We had limits by noon

They were kind of touchy today...had to watch your line closely and set the hook quickly or they'd steal the bait...once we had today's technique down, it didn't take long to round out our limits. It reminds me of the good old days of rockfishing when you could regularly bring home more money in fillets than you spent to go fishing...
