Wintertime chilly float tube trip! 12/27/13

Did another float tube trip with my buddy. This was only his second trip out and he's getting spoiled! lol It's probably because I'm putting him on good fishing! haha!!

Anyways, we tubed the LBC, or Long Beach as others may know it, for the usual fishy suspects: Sand Bass, Rubberlip Perch, Calicos, Rockfish, and the endangered Lizardfish population that appears to be making a great come back! (insert laughter here!)

My catch: 12 Rubberlip Perch on mussels and a SWIMBAIT, 1 small Calico, one 9" grass bass, and 2 sandbass (13" and 11") in deep 20-40' of water (no barotrauma so it was all good!)

Float tuber #2: 5 Sand bass (8"-11") , 5 pile perch that he snagged all in the head or anus. lol he claims that the fish were trying to mate with his lure.

ENJOY! It took me 2 hours to make this sucker! lol. It could use some polishing, but it's good enough. haha!

A 9" grass bass decided to bite. This was a surprising catch. He's lucky that I wasn't going to cook dinner that night. lol.

All in all it was a very fun and proper trip for my last tube trip of the year. I hope everyone enjoyed my post. Have a great new year everyone!

Nice mixed bag of fish there Bryan. It's definitely been cold during the mornings but guess we can't complain too much cuz we've been having warmer daytime temps than anywhere in the country. Great report, photos and vid. Looking forward to more through the New Year. Have a good one!
