I started the morning early to NPH around 4:40AM and forgot my flash light and the sea was too dark to launch my float tube so I slept in the car till some sun light shined through. The condition started out being nice and calm but after about 1 hr in the water, things got so ugly. The current kicked up and marine layer came and the visibly at times were only 10 feet at best, so I decided to head back to the car. What a Big Skunk!! But I wasn't going to waste my precious fishing time so I went over to Newport beach and threw some Gulp camo and LC and got my first perch ever!! A dinky perch but i was so happy. And then a pretty good size on a LC that put up a good fight. I didn't bring a tape measurement but it was about the size of my boot, 12-13". I spent few more hrs and got some more, total of 5 perches.
