joe called me and said he wanted to take his son striper fishing ,because he had just gone on christmas break from school , i told him the bait bite at castaic was still raging so some light tackle fishing was a good option ,and it was a no brainer finding them or what they wanted. so we met up just before opening and joe brought his stuff to the boat ,he also told me his daughter came but she just wanted to hang out and watch her dad and brother fish, she was on break from school at ucla . during the prep before we launched i noticed i left my u-rig bag at the house so no trolling to the bait area .so we hauled it out to the area on the way i noticed kong island was almost gone meaning the lake has been pushed up to near full pool again,i think the constant pushing water in is making the bait fishing to be there and to keep going because on a normal year it leaves alot earlier than this and stays like that till spring. we roll up to the few boats already anchored i moved around to spot the flat high spot next to the drop offs, we find it and drop anchor ,the the sardines start a flying .the fish were all over the water colume ,i used some baitcasters on the carolina rigs to find the accurate depth of the bite ,and we started the kill keeping the dinks and tossing the super dinks .joseph had his wife a four star armenian lunch that was awsome ,four courses of delight and a speical desert .hopefully trollmiester will chime in and say wht they were i discribed them to him on the phone driving home from the lake along with the fish report for the day. noon came and we had to head in to the dock and drop off josephs kids with his wife ,mark took his limit home and me and joseph headed out for the afternoon session. we dropped anchor close to were we where earlier , it took a little while then the schools started making there rounds and the catching got going again . we hit our limits then it was time to go . thank you joseph for using my service again ,,,,,,,,,,,T/O,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
